The Romans Road to Salvation
The Roman Road is a group of Bible verses from the book of Romans in the New Testament. If you walk down this road you will end up understanding how to be saved from your sins by Jesus Christ.
First Stop: The following three verses tell us that all mankind has sinned--that includes me.
Romans 3:10
"As it is written: ?There is none righteous, no, not one'"
Romans 3:23
"...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Romans 5:12
"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned"
Second Stop: Tells us what we deserve (wages) for sin. Sin must be punished.
Romans 6:23a
"For the wages of sin is death..."
Third Stop: The last half of the previous verse tells us about a gift that God has provided. This gift is not earned but we must reach out and receive it.
Romans 6:23b
"...but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Forth Stop: This stop tells us that Christ, motivated by love, took the punishment that we deserve for the sin that we committed.
Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Fifth Stop: This stop tells how to receive the salvation from our sin by confessing and believing. There is nothing that we can do to deserve it.
Romans 10:9
"...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved."
Final Stop: Assures us that if we call upon the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) we will be saved.
Romans 10:13
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!"
